Welcome to Downtown Milton!

Welcome to Main Street Milton's website -- a place to find out what's happening in Downtown Milton, Florida! You can stay informed, get involved, and contribute to help promote our historic downtown.

Located along the Blackwater River

Located along the banks of the Blackwater River, Downtown Milton is a designated Florida Main Street Community and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  The Blackwater River is a designated Outstanding Florida Water because of its natural and rare attributes.

Rich in history and culture

Downtown Milton has been named one of the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation's Eleven Most Endangered Sites two years in a row (2010 and 2011) because of devastation from a 2009 fire in the heart of the historic district, as well as transportation expansion pressures that could destroy the remaining core of the downtown and surrounding neighborhoods.

Full of endless opportunity

Despite development pressures and uncertain widening of U.S. Highway 90, Downtown Milton continues to grow as a vital economic center of Santa Rosa County, where the arts and commerce combine to host a variety of business opportunities.

A local, regional and tourist destination

Downtown Milton hosts several festivals throughout the year, including the Scratch Ankle Festival, Riverwalk Arts Festival, Riverfest, First Fridays, Gallery Night, and much more. Downtown Milton is located in Central Santa Rosa County, convenient to coastal beaches and inland forests and waterways.  Milton is a designated Florida Trail Gateway Community. In addition to its proximity to nature-related activities, Downtown Milton is home to many locally owned shops, boutiques, and restaurants.
