What is Main Street Milton?

The Main Street Approach is a community driven, comprehensive methodology used to revitalize older, traditional business districts throughout the United States. It is a common sense way to address the variety of issues and problems that face traditional business districts. The Main Street Approach advocates a return to community self reliance, local empowerment, and the rebuilding of traditional commercial districts based on their unique assets; distinctive architecture, a pedestrian friendly environment, personal service, local ownership, and a sense of community.

Main Street Milton was created in 2001 to revitalize, promote and improve economic development within the downtown area. Governed by a board of directors and one paid, full time employee (program manager), Main Street Milton now has more than 40 volunteers, and 85 members strong, including a diverse group of businesses and individuals.

Who can participate?

Anyone interested in Downtown Milton revitalization efforts can participate.  There is no fee and everyone is welcome.  Main Street Milton works through four committees to further its goals and objectives of revitalization.  Those committees conduct monthly meetings separate from regular meetings of the Board of Directors but make recommendations to the Board of Directors for decisions.

Our Four Subcommittees:

                   1.) Organization
                   2.) Design
                   3.) Promotion
                   4.) Economic Revitalization

Main Street Milton is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization funded through public & private funds. If you would like to join us in our revitalization efforts by becoming a member and making a donation, please Click here for a MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION
